ACT has awarded a grant of £5,000 to support a 12-month research project led by Professor James Flanagan at Imperial College London, in partnership with Prevent Breast Cancer.

The project investigates the biological mechanisms by which breastfeeding may reduce the risk of breast cancer in younger women, with a particular focus on those who are pregnant or recently postpartum.

The costs of the project are being met by Prevent Breast Cancer, making this a highly efficient use of ACT’s funding to advance important research into one of the most significant risk factors in younger women’s cancer care.
