Fundraising Events

ACT has raised over £500,000 to support the advancement of medical research into the causes, treatments, and potential cures for all types of cancer.

We’ve been fortunate enough to split this between our own initiatives and having others raise money on our behalf. Since the launch of our flagship Race Night in 2013, our ACT-run initiatives have remained at the core of our fundraising efforts and our community.

Also captured here are recent annual Poker Nights, our 2022 10k run and Arcobaleno Cancer Trust’s other fundraising initiatives.

Race Nights

A huge thank you to Simon Roberts Photography and Kevin Dyson for capturing these moments over the years.

Since 2013 we’ve held seven annual Race Nights, supporting Cancer Research UK, The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, and multiple ACT grants in the process.

The first Race Night was held in the month of Bruna’s 35th birthday as an enjoyable way to spend an evening in her memory whilst supporting a worthy cause.

The format was simple – allow people to bet on pre-recorded horse races and give a portion of the winnings to Cancer Research UK. In 2013, we raised £11,118.

Since then, the event has evolved enormously – aside from horse racing, we’ve introduced mushroom hunts, rainbow raffles, racing simulators, and more. The scale has also dramatically increased – in 2019 we raised £60,876.04, over five times as much as when we first set out.
